Monster Jam World Tour 2010

Our 7 year Anniversary is March 1st and as we were coming up with ideas of ways to celebrate we came across the Monster Trucks event at the Cowboys Stadium. I have never been, but ever since I was little I always wanted to see Monster Trucks, so when I found out that it was being held in town on our Anniversary weekend it was a no brainer. Plus we got to take the girls along and they had a blast!

Emma and Aaron's favorite Monster Truck was the Batman.
The US Air force Monster Truck really tore it up over a jump and totally broke off the front axle.
Captain Curse

This was really cool to see, Captain curse drove right over the winnebago.

Gravedigger

Gravedigger was awesome!
Bounty Hunter
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle was a crowd favorite

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle caught on fire after a rollover.

We can't wait to do it again! The girls keep talking about Monster Trucks and how they want to go again. I highly recommend it to y'all . :) Happy Anniversary!!

Snow Day in Texas!!!

I took Emma to school this morning despite the fact that it was snowing unusually hard for Texas. It never let up and I wasn't surprised to get a call a few hours later from Emma's school saying to come and get her because they were closing the school. Born and raised in Utah I had to laugh at this, but Texans aren't meant for the snow so I was happy to get a snow day with my kids. Aaron's school got cancelled too so he got to build a snowman with us.

Look at her face, pure bliss! Chloe loved the snow! She just laid down and rolled around in it.

This is our backyard, crazy huh?

Emma was pretty excited about the whole thing, she just kept yelling "Snowman!"

Valentine Vase

I was trying to find a unique inexpensive gift idea for Emma's teacher for Valentines Day and I came across this cute idea online to make a stained glass valentine vase http://video.about.com/familycrafts/Valentine-Stained-Glass-Vase.html
It's was super easy and fun for Emma to do and her teacher loved it! I removed the wrapper on a snapple bottle and used goo gone for any residue and then rinsed it out with soapy water. Emma tore lots of different strips of red and pink tissue paper in different sizes. She would smother Elmer's glue on the bottle with her finger and then smooth on tissue paper. We did several layers and then the glue drys clear and it looks great in the light. Cute, cheap and fun for the kids to do.

100 Days!

Today was Emma's 100th day of school. They celebrated by having all the kids in Kindergarten decorate a poster with 100 things and parade them around the school. Emma made a flower out of 100 marshmallows. Aaron, Chloe and I surprised Emma by showing up to the parade and she was so happy to see us there. Thanks to my Dad I inherited a soft side and started to tear up, I really tried hard not to and Aaron just laughed at me, but I am so proud of her. Emma got thrown into Kindergarten unexpectedly this year and she has made the adjustment so well. I thought she had another year so I enrolled her in Pre-K, only to find out after a few days of Pre-School that she was suppose to be in Kindergarten. She went from being at home with Mommy all day to going to school 7 hours everyday, but she has done so well. She has an excellent teacher and the other kids are just naturally drawn to her, she has made so many friends. Yesterday at school her "boyfriend" Nathan bought her a Valentine pencil out of the pencil machine and gave it to her, aw so cute!! Im so glad Emma loves school, we are so proud of her!

Sick! Sick! Sick!

The Stomach Flu bug hit our house last week. Poor lil Emma got it bad and then I caught it, which is always the worst cuz when the Mom gets sick who takes care of everybody else? I was too sick to pick up Emma from school so Daddy surprised her and she felt so bad for me so she made me this cute little card and had Daddy sign it.
She said thats me as a heart and the little people on the bottom of the card are our family.
Mommy, Daddy and the two dogs.
Daddy as a heart, love the hair! :)
Chloe did her part to take care of me too. When I felt like I was ready to throw up she took me to that bathroom, shoved my head into the toilet and said, "Come on Mom! Go like this, Blaaaaaah!" I can always expect Chloe to make me laugh even when I feel bad. Even though it was hard being sick and still taking care of the kids once Aaron got home I locked myself in my room and put on the long version of Pride and Prejudice. Aaaah Mr. Darcy!
