Aaron's Drum Solo

Give it up for my hubby Aaron winning 2nd place and $500 two years running at the Parker College of Chiropractic Talent Show! I am so proud of him! He worked so hard at this solo and practiced everyday. Last year he just did a drum solo, but he had a lot of friends ask him if he would play to music this year so he chose Grim Goodbye by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
Twirling his stick, the crowd loves that.
I bought Aaron firestix which light up blue when he hits the drums. Halfway through the solo they dimmed the lights and he pulled out his light up drum sticks. It was awesome!!
They use a meter that judges how loud the crowd cheers for you to determine who wins. I kept telling Emma and Chloe to be really quiet for all the other contestants and scream as loud as they could when it was Daddy's turn. I could hear Emma's little voice "yelling" Go Daddy! I asked her if she yelled as loud as she could and she said, "Yes but I couldn't hear myself yelling!" It was so loud. He had all his friends and classmates come support him and that meant so much to him. After the talent show Aaron had to go back to class and he was late because he had to put the drums back into the van. He said that when he walked into his class the teacher stopped class and everyone was clapping and cheering for him. He is so happy and thankful to have such a great group of peers.
I love this picture, everyone is clapping for eachother. The group on the right was called Radial Head and they won 1st, Aaron 2nd and the Latin group on the left took 3rd place, but if you think about it Aaron won more money because they have to split the winnings amongst themselves and Aaron gets to keep it all hahahaha
Aaron and his girls
I'm so proud of you Baby! You're the Best Drummer I know, I love you!

St. Patricks Day Memories!

If you know me you know that St. Patricks Day is my favorite Holiday. I grew up anticipating March 17th every year because the Leprechauns always visited our house. My Mom made it really special for us and it it stuck with me when I started my own family that I wanted to share the tradition with my kids. We wake up to little green footprints outside our bedroom door that wind around the house and end at a pot of gold under the rainbow. The Leprechauns decorated our house and table with Lucky Charms, green milk and green prizes. My favorite thing was the rainbow glasses and silly irish music playing in the background. Hope y'all have a great day and wear a little green! :)

My older brother Josh and I right before heading off to school. I think I was in 7th grade.
Josh and I the next year, I got contacts so I think this is about 8th grade.
This is my family, can you find me?
Another year, I think I was in 9th grade. The little leprechauns stayed up real late covering the house in green.
The tradition carries on with our family with Emma's first St. Patricks Day in 2005.
St. Patricks Day in 2008, aw look how cute and little Chloe is!I am missing a few years, but I can't find where I saved the pictures.

And this year 2010, I was so happy to come across these felt glasses at JoAnns, Lol!

The Phantom of the Opera

We are still celebrating our 7 year anniversary, but this time we got a babysitter and got to go out just the two of us. I have never been to a broadway production and I was so excited when I found out that The Phantom of the Opera was in Dallas, neither Aaron or I have seen it. The Phantom of the Opera is the longest-running show in Broadway history and is in its 22nd year. We got to get dressed up and I finally had an excuse to wear my little black dress and strappy shoes. It was an amazing show!

Tim Martin Gleason played the Phantom and he just blew us away! He has been doing Phantom of the Opera since 2001 and has the longest running record playing the role of Raoul more then 2,600 times. He was amazing!

Now I really want so see Les Miserables and Wicked.

Emma took the picture for us, for a five year old she did a pretty good job.
