It's Great to be Eight!

My baby turned 8 over the weekend.  I can't believe Im old enough to have an 8 year old.  I don't know where I'd be without my Emma Lou, she has the sweetest spirit and she is so lovable and caring and thoughtful and beautiful inside and out and I could go on and on.
I started planning her birthday months ago because I knew I needed to get it all together before Ethan was born.  We talked about a Spa party or Scooby Doo but decided on a Water party because with a new baby I would just have to supervise this one and the kids could entertain themselves.
I made these sponge balls which I had sitting in a kiddie pool instead of water balloons because whenever there is water ballons someone ends up crying after getting smacked in the face with one.  Then we had a sprinker by the trampoline and all the kids got beach balls.  I had bubbles, tattoos, a slip and slide and the thing the kids seemed to like the most were these cute $1 spray bottles I got at target instead of water guns which you are constantly refilling, don't work half the time and these spray bottles were awesome and shot pretty far.  Gotta love the $ section, I can never pass it by.
 I love this picture of Aaron with his cousin Landon because it looks like they're holding hands :}
 Emma racing with her friend Allison.  I was a little disappointed in the slip in slide, didn't seem like the water sprayed much, but the kids still seemed to enjoy it.
 Thank goodness Aaron records things.
 Chloe made me laugh.  I have several pictures of her just hanging in the background being quiet so nobody pays attention to her while she sits and squirts people and they don't realize it's her....she was so sneaky.
 Even Aunt Sheena got wet, after I dared her.  Gotta love that girl!

 This picture wins the prize.  While Emma was posing for me with her spray bottle, her friend Ellie snuck up behind her and sprayed her in the back of the head.  Just look at her face!  Cracks me up every time lol!
 Aunt Cheree can never get enough of her new nephew.

 My baby, oh man look at that handsome face, just want to kiss those cheeks.

 Action shots by Aaron.  He is pretty good with a camera.

 And Emma's surprise present was a new bike.  Now we can all have bikes for our family bike rides.
 Hehehe another one of my favorite pictures that makes me laugh.  Look at Chloe's face, she's like this guy is crazy!

 Not much to say about this one, just a couple of weirdos.  They're related, can't ya tell :)
 The day after Emma's party we had Emma's baptism and Ethan's blessing.  It was such a nice meeting, the spirit was so strong and I loved my Dads talk he gave to Emma about baptism.  It was a special day for our family and Im glad Emma and Ethan got to share it together.

 3 Generations
 Look at these two cuties, how did I get so lucky!  It was a crazy weekend, trying to do all that needed doing with a new baby and I couldn't have done it without Aaron.  It was nice to celebrate Fathers Day on the same weekend.  We made him breakfast, showered him with presents and the girls sang to him in sacrament meeting.  Aaron is an amazing Daddy.  One of my favorite things about him is when he tucks the girls in at night.  He does it every night and Im not allowed in.  He shuts the door and they have their special Daddy time and I hear the girls just laughing and laughing.  Sometimes I sit and listen outside the door and one of the things he does to tuck them in is tell them a special story that he will make up on the spot.  They are always hilarious and he has been telling these stories way back since we first lived in Texas and the characters names are Emmie and Chloa.  My kids are lucky to have such a fun Daddy, he keeps life fun.
