"King of the Wold"

Aaron turned 30 this week, it was a hard Birthday for him, but we made it fun. When my Dad turned 30 my Mom made these 30 t-shirts for the family and I thought it would be fun to do the same thing.
We're short a couple of kiddos and a mustache hahaha
Emma and I got up at 6:30 in the morning to decorate Aaron's car before he woke up and headed to work. We improved a little from last year and used window markers. I gave Emma a couple of windows to do as she pleased and on one of them she wrote, "King of the Wold!" I love it! Aaron said he got a lot of weird looks driving around lol!

I took Aaron on a surprise date up to Ruth's Diner up Immigration Canyon. Ruth's Diner is a Trolley car turned into a restaurant and was featured on the Food Network Channel on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. It is the 2nd oldest restaurant in Utah and has been around since 1930. We sat outside on the patio with the live music, it is a great place and so beautiful up there.

30 candles makes for a BIG flame!

Happy Birthday Aaron, we love you!!

Emma's 7th Birthday!

My sweet baby Emma (yes she is still my baby) turned 7 years old this week. I asked her what she wanted to do for her Birthday and she said she wanted to spend the day with her cousin Myree. So we had my niece Anna and Myree come sleepover and we turned Emma's Birthday into a 2 day celebration. We started the day with chocolate chip pancakes and then headed over to this great splash pad that is free just at the bottom of Spanish Fork Canyon. We made a trip of it and packed a picnic, played in the water for a couple of hours and enjoyed the playground they have there too.

We came back to the house and continued with more outdoor play all day. We got out Emma's new sprinkler and put it by the trampoline, brought out the bubble machine, got out the new chalk toys, and once we were all exhausted from being in the sun all day we headed inside for a couple more party games and then Emma's favorite dinner, fruit filled crepes. Once Aaron finally got home from work we got to do cake, ice cream and presents.
Wishing hard, "I wish I would grow up faster so I can drive a car."

The party didn't stop there, the next morning we went out bowling and then over to McDonalds. It was a crazy fun Birthday! We Love our Emma Lou, she is such a sweet, caring, friendly girl and we are so blessed to have her in our family.

Sunday Hike

One of the things I missed most while living in Texas was hiking. It's one of my favorite things, and I love that the girls are old enough to go with us but not at that age where they would hate it. So after church today we went on a Sunday hike. The girls were great, they didn't complain even though it got hot and steep in some parts, they were troopers.
Emma is such a sweetheart! On a really steep part I took her hand and showed her that as you go down you turn your feet to the side and that makes it easier and she said, "I'd rather fall then have you fall." And before we left Aaron was packing up our backpack with snacks, water, gotta have band aids for Chloe, and a pocket knife, don't dare go without one after 127 hours. Anyways, Emma packed up her own backpack and when I asked her what she put in it she said, "Extra pair of socks, slippers and my Book of Mormon because you never know when you might need it." I love her way of thinking.

Chloe is Wonder Woman!
Gotta love these crazy girls!
